Yep, President Obama has surely ushered in an era of post racialism
Michelle Malkin has a link-rich roundup of the distortions and lies the Legacy Media, aka Democrat PR Media, are pushing in the Van Jones “resignation” meme.
9/10er, Charles Johnson backpedals on his support of Van Jones on the front page but falls in line with the “lynch mob” Leftist mendacity in the comments [h/t Pablo] (and engages in disingenuous moral equivalency as added stooooopity.)
But it can’t be Van Jones’ fault that he’s a Marxist, vulgar, cop-killer-supporting Truther! No, no, it’s Glenn Beck’s fault! And the GOP!!! Van Jones was scalped I tell you!
There’s even the claim this was because of poor vetting by the Obama administration. What, Valerie Jarrett doesn’t know how to use Google? Please, what you have here is that Van Jones, with his background as a radical activist, was acceptable to be an Obama czar. Because this isn’t just a one time fluke, considering Dr. “Complete Life System” Zeke Emanuel and “People are a plague” John Holdren.
Obama ran on a platform of “Transforming America” and people are realizing he was serious and they are not happy with what “transform” means when translated from ObamaSpeak.
Leftists aren’t happy that their goals for a militarily-neutered, Euro-statist-economy, post-Western-culture America isn’t being readily achieved. And they will use the race-card at each and every pushback in a naked attempt to guilt people into shutting up.
Schmucks.

Oh, btw, if you think Obama’s driving need to never be out of the news-cycle, even if it means doing an unprecedented, nationwide address to K-6th graders is, well, a little creepy, then you must be a racist.

UPDATE: Wow, here is some real classic Leftist projection
After a brief respite, the most accessible American political discourse has returned to fearful, hate-filled, ignorant rants of a high-volume, low-intellect minority? [...]Too often, this White House has sent the signal that it seeks common ground and conciliation with parties interested in its total destruction. From my point of view, negotiating with ignorance, fear, hate and irrationality is insane. [...]
I realize I’m lumping a variety of “opposition” camps together: birthers, deathers, those who accuse the president of racism and those who accuse him of socialism. I’m grouping them because to me they all come from the same place. They’re engaging in a form of terrorism.

Dangerous to themselves and others. If disagreeing with the Obamist cabal is racism, then doesn’t that make racism a noble and patriotic act? Who would have thought that rehabilitating Strom Thurmond and Bobby Byrd would have been so easy?

It’ll be interesting to watch the administration and the MSM twist and spin this episode considering how hard the sycophantic MSM worked to keep this out of the public eye in the first place…
As many have noted, imagine what some folks are going to think when they read Van Jones’ name in print for the very first time in the legacy media, only to find out they’re reading an article about him resigning under fire for his racist statements, controversial views, past associations with criminals, and self-proclaimed communist beliefs…

I read the first hundred or so of the comments, and they are fuming at Obama and the Democrats for “Backing down so easily!1!!1!eleventy”…
A couple of tastes of comedy gold;
“Definitely the most cowardly administration (40+ / 0-)
most of my generation (twentysomethings) have seen so far.”
and
“facts?? the fact is we have another quitter!! (9+ / 0-)
He couldn’t stand behind his words and caved. That’s being a fucking coward.”
or
“I’ll believe it when I see it… (3+ / 0-)
So far, I haven’t seen any democrats go up against the lying and the bullying from the other side.Makes me sick and doesn’t bode well for all of us who thought there was gonna be change we could believe in. I would rather see us fight and lose than to not fight at all…”
but maybe the best is;
“I’ll take my uprate away. n.t (1+ / 0-)
“YES WE CAN” doesn’t mean he is going to.”
Sounds like trouble in paradise to me…

Perhaps you are right Pablo, it does keep (some of) them busy but frankly I can’t see the tiny price the White House has to pay as nearly fit to the problems Mr Jones exemplifies (either in the WH or in the MSM). Look at Jonah’s take on Gibbs and Axelrod this a.m. (I saw neither, but am willing to take Jonah at his word on their performance.)
Jones’ office isn’t going away. The stupidities he spouted in that office will not cease. The terrific waste of tax revenues he would have proposed in that office will not stop. He will merely be replaced with another appointee, again unexamined/unapproved by the Congress, who will carry on as before as though nothing of consequence has happened with Jones’ resignation. Maybe I underestimate the attention that Jones’ resignation will get as Congress resumes its work but as of now, I don’t see this leading anywhere significant.
Someone else at NROcorner (M. Hemingway) mentioned the ouster of Chas Freeman before Freeman could even be seated in his slot. BFD, I say, insofar as Freeman’s disgusting policy positions issue forth from the Oval Office in any case.

Not the first time a president has addressed the nation’s school children. H.W. Bush did it in 1991.
http://www.politifact.com/truth-o-meter/statements/2009/sep/03/arne-duncan/barack-obama-not-first-president-address-school-ch/
Here’s the good part–Democrats at the time accused him of abuse of power for making the speech:
[open quote] The Department of Education should not be producing paid political advertising for the president, it should be helping us to produce smarter students,” said Rep. Richard Gephardt, then the Democratic majority leader in the House of Representatives.”And the president should be doing more about education than saying, ‘Lights, camera, action.’”
Patricia Schroeder, then a Democratic member of Congress from Colorado, said the speech showed “the arrogance of power,” and that the White House should not be “using precious dollars for campaigns” when “we are struggling for every silly dime we can get” for education.” [end quote]
Of course, Newt Gingrich defended the President’s right to speak to the nation’s snowflakes.
The problem with Obama’s speech is neither the fact of the speech nor its content–it was the DOE pre-prepared curricular activities that, until the Administration wisely pulled them, encouraged kids to think about how they could “help the president.”

Comment by Darleen on 9/6 @ 1:56 pm #
GHWB broadcast his statement on CNN, NBC, not directly beamed into classrooms via the government website with invites going directly to principals (bypassing school boards) nor was it accompanied by an extended lesson plan with followups.
Citing Reagan’s broadcast with Q/A from high schoolers is a real stretch of equivalency.
The President always has the right to use his/her office as a “bully pulpit” and speak on matters of good/evil, morality, etc. What is creepy is the “to serve the president” slant and the cult of personality that oozes from the Obama administration.
IMHO, education is the proper province of the First Spouse.
And outside of advocacy, the Fed should butt out of education altogether. Has public education gotten better or worse since Jimmy Carter established the Dept. of Education?

I wonder how far this will go for them. The Left long ago set up a system of un-vetting. Anyone appearing to be down for “the cause” would be given a pass on most anything as long as they advanced “the cause” in some way. This has allowed their entire side to become riddled with charismatic narcissists especially in the leadership levels.
The true believers in “the cause” will not react well to finding out their entire life’s cause in nothing but a means to power for those who are the most powerful on “their” side.
The charismatic narcissists will not react well to any of those they see as the lower orders getting uppity about taking orders and shutting up.

[a] narcissist… who is using the ideology socialism along with a racial “us against them” comradeship as his easy means to the power fix he constantly needs
To clarify, he’s not “using” the ideology in the sense that he pretends to be down with it but he could choose something else just as easily. He is using the ideology because it’s a narcissistic ideology to begin with, one that tells “smart people” how smart they are and how they ought to be in charge except for those vulgar capitalists.
Most of whom donate to the Dems anyway, but we must perpetuate the memes even after the landscape changes.
Classical liberalism is by definition not appealing to narcissists, because it entails rolling back centralized power as much as possible and spreading it around. It means that you’re no better than anyone else, and the “commoners” are just as useful to the Republic, in their current state, than the smart people are.
And also let’s remember that all Glenn ever did was show Van Jones videos, which on the left constitutes a smear.

Name ONE significant difference in policy in the Obama Admin and those policies already enacted by Socialist Democrats in Europe.
Van Jones is an admitted Marxist (aka communist). Obama is a “progressive” … A statist who wishes broad economic power be centered in DC. As has been captured on tape, Democrats don’t believe the hoi poloi is capable of making decisions for themselves.
NannyState or liberty. That’s not rhetoric, it is reality.

see, Snotcone, there was a time when American liberalism was still anti-left.
The Left has subsumed “liberalism”. Obama, who is on record stating the US Constitution is “outdated” because it deals in negative rights rather than positive ones, is a leftist, NOT a “liberal”.
Liberalism is found in contemporary America to the right of center.

snotcone seeks to pretend the far Left doesn’t exist because of “language”. It seeks to obfuscate by controlling the language, attempting to seize the narrative.
But at its core you find two types of people…those that want to control others and those who do not.
Snotcone and leftists are in the former category. Statism v liberty.

Van Jones is nice example of an affirmative action positive feedback explosive failure.
Any kind of preferential treatment separated from actual performance will lead to a failure of negative feedback in the system which we call “select people based on their ability”.
Individuals and populations cursed with this will be selected above their capacity to perform and shortcomings and small failures will be overlooked.
Only when this positive feedback system is exposed to sufficient stress (ie promoted to White House responsibility level) will this system fail, but instead of a small failure at low energy levels it will fail catastrophically.
This can be seen in higher failure rates of affirmative action admitted undergraduates up through the display we have seen with VJ.
Everyone may now begin calling me racist, but I maintain that the same results will adhere for any people exposed to it.

The asshole Jones described himself as a communist. You might want to try google.
Also this quote from one of those mythical vampire like creatures that would call themselves a “communist”.
“You Americans are so gullible. No you won’t accept Communism outright, but we’ll keep feeding you small doses of socialism until you’ll finally wake up and you find you already have Communism. If, as many here believe, it is the case that Van Jones was forced to resign as a result of his signing some “Truther” petition, then it is most certainly a case of racism, just not in the way the left would like to spin this. I mean, if Howard Dean can basically spout the same crap on national TV in 2003, and then go on to be DNC chairman, while Van needs to resign, what does that tell us about the Democrat party?
Or is it the case that Dean gets just enough wiggle room with the “I’m just asking questions here” formulation that he can’t be pinned with the same “trutherism” tag?

Anyone know how heavy the IGFA all-tackle world record Baratunda is?
That’s the insidious part. Take, for example, this Baratunda character – he’s giddy at the prospect of calling his political opposition “low intellect.” His wiki bio states that he has a BA from Harvard, so it is likely that he actually believes that he’s a member of the cognoscenti, rather than what is far more likely – that a bunch of white people at Harvard said “get me some black guys,” and he wound up being one of them. Notice, they didn’t say “get me some smart guys.” So, while Baratunda can belittle your hard-earned degree from State, you’re identified as a racist if you mention the fact that his “education” was a race-based sinecure.

See below, wherein no-account “Liberal Talk Radio” host Mike Malloy blames “the right” for the assassinations of the Kennedy brothers, and denies that Oswald was a Communist, despite a record which includes a (pre-assassination) televised interview in which he self-declares as such, and his defection to the Soviet Union.

Serr8d, the media’s misrepresentation of what a middle class lifestyle is a [expletive] joke. Obama’s as “inconspicuous consuption”? Nothing inconspicuous about flying the extended family to Paris. And golfing (hate to bring this up) is one of the most ecologically unsound activities out there. It’s bad, except when Barack does it, I guess.
“Renting” a vacation house instead of returning to an estate? Please. Let’s take a poll of how many Americans, this past year, “rented” a vacation house. A tiny percentage of Americans have “family estates” and a large majority of the super-rich rent vacation homes.
I know it’s too much to ask for the media to pretend to have a bit of impartiality. I hope they all go under. Every one of them. “Regular Folk” don’t go to Harvard. “Regular Folk” don’t make $300,000 working at a hospital.

I believe the left is covering its ears and shouting “I can’t hear you!” because they cannot reconcile the egregious failures, nastiness, bumbling and deliberate arrogance with the image they so eagerly bought into. They are a like the teenage girl who is convinced the 25-year old hustler really loves her.
And what the hell does “wee-weeing” mean? What juvenile language is this stranger in the White House speaking?
I am sick of the condescension and the insults. When this country gets back on its feet, it will be because of the hard work of individual Americans. But you’ll never see the current occupant of the Oval Office admit that or compliment average people; it will be all his doing. He’s too busy making us all evil demons.
I say bravo to those who understand the nature and intent of his school address. By the way, has anyone ever seen anything he has written, or his grades? Is he going to tell the youngsters to go find elite private schools like the ones he attended? Or will he announce a revival of the successful voucher program in Wn DC that enabled youngsters to thrive? Oh, please. I can’t wait for 2012

The Doctor makes a diagnosys:
FTA:
The proposition that enlightened government officials should control the economy sounds appealing to those who feel capitalism has not treated them well. No matter what name it operates under, fascism never works. It can’t work. Fascist control might produce short-term gains for its favored constituencies, and the sense of organization it brings might benefit a highly disorganized or demoralized population, such as prewar Germany, for a while. In the long run, fascism falls apart because political control is always less flexible and innovative than free-market competition. The political masters of the economy have a list of alternatives they will not consider, mistakes they will not admit to making, and explanations that simply cannot be true. Since they see the free market as inferior to their intellect and moral judgment, they never study it carefully enough to understand how it really works. They become highly adept at killing the geese that lay golden eggs.
