I could barely stand Kondracke on “McLaughlin Group.” When he turned up on FoxNews’ “Special Report” I used to get a huge kick out of all the times Brit Hume would correct him on elementary factual errors on which The Mort was basing whole arguments.

If the plan is so great, why don’t they mandate that Congress and their families become part of it?
They get to keep their plan, which is conveniently funded by the government and thus will not go out of existence, unlike my private plan.

Well, since Obama and the Dems have changed their tactic on Obamacare, calling it “insurance reform” instead, to no avail, we should introduce a new tactical wrinkle too.
In town halls, and in all possible venues and circumstances, we should be asking why Congress, Federal Employees, and all Labor Unions will be spared having to join Obamacare. Or, another possible framing of the question would be to say that peopole wouldn’t be so suspect of Obamacare if Congress, Unions, and Federal employees would have to join it…
Anyway, it doesn’t really matter much since their entire strategy is flawed on this one. And it’s not too often that good tactics will make up for bad strategies…

I’m sick of the wimpy droners the media continues to parade in front as spokesmen for right leaning populous.
There is nothing conservative about Brooks, Parker, Kondracke, etc. etc. — the whole lot of them are jackasses. Boring, empty. They’re is nothing that would make these idiots get off their fat rears and right back. (Gingrich/Buchanan, those has beens, they can go, too.)
There must be some new faces out there that can state clearly what this country is up against, and how important it is to keep our attention focused on the issues, and not continue pontificate on what the MSM decides is the subject matter for the day.
Demonization of those speaking out is always the agenda, just keep throwing the crap out and these idiots run and pick of the scraps. Oh, Palin said “evil.” Oh, the horrors, see, see conservatives are just a bunch of radicals.
I’m not interested in Palin or what she has to say. What I care about is that what the Democrat party is doing to this country right this minute needs to be repeated and repeated. We are the only ones who will voice it. The media will not, the GOP leadership will not. Even the blog sights (right leaning as well), will not. The attention is to the outrage we are expressing, not to the cause of the outrage.
Anyone noticed at LGF, charles is oh so concerned about the evolution thing (of course), the climate change thing (of course), and the horrible behavior of the “angry mobs,” and Palin using the word ‘evil.” Pelosi, simply misspoke and we’ve misinterpreted (again and again) what she meant to say about the “angry mobs” “wearing swastikas.” We’re just looking for an excuse to push back.
Obama, Reid, Pelozi, Durban, Hoyer, Schumer, Leahy ARE the Democrat party leadership. I do believe what they say reflects their party’s opinion and beliefs. Their quotes over the years are truly jaw droppers. Limbaugh speaks for himself as a talk show host and generally in response to what the Dem leadership has said. Even though there is portion of his listening audience that might agree with him, he does not speak or represent the GOP leadership. Anybody see the difference?
LFG continues to offers such reasoned careful analysis for the left, but anything from the right, gosh, what a bunch of jahmucks, how dare they bring their silly handmade signs, raise their voices and make a ruckus. But I always check LGF site in order to keep aware. Charles and his commenters, I believe, reflect the majority who might be a little disturbed by the last 6 months, but not so disturbed that there is need for action to be taken. Watch, pontificate, raise an objection now and then. Be calm, be reasonable, have a conversation. Lets try out this new legislation for healthcare and cap and trade, etc., etc., and maybe it will work after all — because, gee, there ARE some good things about all these programs being rammed through.
While I like to think the blogs and comments I visit daily are an indication the majority of Americans are willing to get up, speak out and participate in pushing back the socialist agenda of the left, it is not reality. Our numbers are pretty small and that most people are fine with government intervention with their lives.
Larger businesses have apparently been setting up their agreements and compromises so they can hang on long enough for the top to be skimmed before they let the whole corporation collapse (GM, CITI, Bank of America, pharmaceuticals– Greenwich, Conn., going to do just fine). Smaller businesses will be feeding at the teat of many government programs yet to be established. Unions will be installed everywhere else they are not now.
Generations have been taught their government has an obligation to provide for them, and they will know nothing different. There will be no freedom missed.
I wish it was different, but this little “temper tantrum” is just that. This, too, shall pass.

Congress Exempt From Health Care Reform?
Starting on pg 113, line 22 of SENATE version of the Health Care Reform Bill (http://help.senate.gov/BAI09A84_xml.pdf) … The term ‘qualified individual’ means an individual who is NOT eligible for coverage under the Federal employees health benefits program under chapter 89 of title 5, United States Code. NOW, you surf over to US Code Title 5 Chapter 89, describing federal employee “Health Insurance” … http://www.law.cornell.edu/uscode/5/usc_sup_01_5_10_III_20_G_30_89.html
The way I read this convoluted legislation, is that Congress & Federal Employees will be exempted from health care reform. Congress gets something different from what the rest of America gets.
This doesn’t seem fair. Just sayin.
P.S. Wish those critiquing health care reform would quote chapter & verse from the bill. Otherwise, we risk RIDICULOUS CLAIMS being fed into the hopper, these will be debunked, and used against those undercutting the ridicule this legislation and its legislators deserve.
