If anyone has the chutzpah to still peddle the “anti-ObamaCare crowd is astroturf” mendoucheous meme, usually coupled with some sop about they can’t understand the anger … look no further than the expressed frustration of Democrat John Dingell’s constituents who know his answer to a direct question is a LIE.
Q: Is there any provision in this legislation that will address the issue of tort claims?
Dingell: The Congress can handle only so much …
Five different bills, thousands of pages, thousands of amendments and not one word about tort reform. The audience isn’t stupid, even as Dingell thinks they are. They know when they are being lied to, baldfaced. The next question and answer seals the deal.
Q: The next question is: This person seems to think this …your legislation is similiar to Massachusetts and says why would it work in the United States, they think it doesn’t work in Massachusetts.Dingell: I don’t know if it’s working in Massachusett’s or not.

Just who is professionally printing up the Single Payer: Yes We Can! signs and bumperstickers at the same time Democrats are dismissing any charge by dissenters to nationalized medicine about single payer as “disinformation”?
Also at the end of the news video Dingell is quite clear that he, too, dismisses his own constituents that dared dissent from his wise plan to tell them how to live as “infiltrators”.

People are freaking out because they know the deficits are unsustainable. While no one likes health care costs going up, they fear that government run health care will only increase costs and inefficiencies more and lower the quality of such care.
And it is not crazy to think that…
Especially after Obama started off by letting Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid totally pork up the stimulus. What did we get out of that? A trillion dollars of death and a few roads with new asphalt seal coats. Boy I feel stimulated.

Money is important and yes, this administration has totally betrayed us on this issue.
But money is so NOT the bottom-line issue w/ healthcare blow-back. Healthcare is an existential issue. People are freaking out because: “The Democrats now openly talk like Stalinists.”

Brian Williams told me last night that Rush Limbaugh made them to come there and then he compared Obama to a Nazi. Then he asked Chuck Todd about how mean Limbaugh was and Chuck helpfully ran thru a list of Obama’s “accomplishments” this week, (first latina on the SC, cash for clunkers, supposedly dropping unemployment, something else I forget now) before responding that using Nazi language was not helpful and it “might” backfire. Totally straight newscast I saw last night on NBC and they played it right down the middle. If Nancy Pelosi had said town hall attendees were carrying swaztikas or someoneone like Harry Reid compared them to brownshirts that wouldn’t be helpful language at all and would backfire so my TV would definately call them out too.
If they were biasd at all I might have gotten really mad and almost thrown a full sprite can thru my TV but that fortunately didn’t happen.

Before I forget about it I just want to remind you all that in the past 8 years when Bush was in office the network news always asked questions about the protestors too. They always questioned their motivations and looked into if they were paid to be there. I remember stories about how they were told to be there by a radio show disc jockey and he could be responsible for manufacturing their outrage. Also the news ran stories on how comparing your opponents to Nazi’s was bad. I so remember that happening so there is no double standard at all.

JD I totally agree there they do not care who knows it anymore as long as they still got influence over people not informed enough to know. What pisses me off is people like my girlfriend’s parents only watch NBC or CBS and this will be what they talk to me about next time I come over. They literally parrot everything they see on the networks back to me like it is gospel.
I do not watch any network news normally my girlfriend had left NBC on before she left for work so it popped up. That was the first 5 minutes of their 7 oclock hour last night. I literally got angry for 2 hours. Something that biased had to be intentional there is no way they did not know about Pelosi saying it first or have the complete text of Limbaugh’s words. It was on fuckin purpose that is what got me so mad. These fucks want to deliberately mislead people. I do not remember one single story in the last 8 years asking the question if an anti-war protest was staged or manufactured, not fuckin one.

Sorry to keep hammering the same point 50 times but I listened to Limbaugh that day. Every sentence started out with “If Mrs. Pelosi wants to start saying people are Nazi’s well here you go here is some Nazi comparisons.” They completely cut that part out of the entire segment and never once mentioned that he was responding to what she said. It was disgusting and deliberate.

What is striking is that John Dingell is very experienced at dealing with constituents, and yet, here his experience and skill were useless. That should be giving many members of congress some pause. They will react, but many will reflect. My prediction (such as it is) is that Congress will return from recess and find ways to kill ObamaCare quietly. This potato is too hot for individual members of congress to want to hold. In fact, I bet most are hoping for an international crisis they can turn to so they can drop ObamaCare while saving face.
