Grandma got run over by ObamaCare [Darleen Click]

Theme song by Perry L Nunley

Grandma got run over by ObamaCare
she signed up for double-A. R. P.
Some say private health care is a villain
I think poor old grandpa disagrees

She had the best care in the world
and cheap prescriptions at Walmart
But Congress gave us single payer
That’s when our troubles seemed to start

It was a dark day in December
she started feelin’ kind of ill
Wait six long weeks to see the doctor
And he just gave her a pain pill

Grandma got run over by ObamaCare
she signed up for double-A. R. P.
Some say private health care is a villain
I think poor old grandpa disagrees

Yeah, I think poor old grandpa disagrees

Hot Air whacked Sarah Palin upside the head with understated snark for “popping her fool mouth off” is how I read the posts over there.

  8. Comment by Joe on 8/7 @ 9:45 pm #

Tapper is Sarah so crazy? Sure it is a bit of hyperbole, it is true no Obamacrat has said they would do this, but I could definitely see down the road not covering premature babies, down syndrome babies and a host of other conditions under a necessary rationing plan. Even the Washington Post acknowledged that the GOP’s ads about the British Health Care rationing system (where they do a cost benefit of care that calls for no treatment around $25,000) was accurrate, but that Obama has not called for that.

Call me skeptical, but I do not trust the Obama health ministers.

Tapper and Allah both got a little righty about the whole Nazi deal today, so they have to go back in the cave to power up.

  10. Comment by happyfeet on 8/7 @ 10:13 pm #

after I upgrade to Windows 7 which I think is tomorrow I’m going to block Hot Air on this machine because it’s not helpful except for where sometimes you want to check it and make sure you’re not linking something they’ve already linked but you know what? That really isn’t the biggest deal in the world and they’re gratuitously puerile and I already have just the right amount of puerile all by myself.

    happyfeet,
Your observations and characterizations crack me up most of the time. Good luck with the Windows 7. I haven’t seen it yet, but I assume we’ll all have to get used to it eventually; unless one has a mac.

I borrowed your, “dirty Hungarian muppets”, turn of the phrase in the other thread, It seemed like the right thing to say at the time. Of course, I gave you credit. I’m no plagiarist; that’s Joe Bidens department…

  15. Comment by happyfeet on 8/7 @ 11:09 pm #

thank you, Mr. Reed. I don’t feel at all proprietary about any phrases. You can has. The Windows 7 … there’s a deadline on new validations of Win 7 RC but tomorrow is still within the deadline.

I have no idea what that means but a friend takes care of things like that here. He says it’s something I want to do.

The best thing about ObamaCare? You know all those crappy medical studies every week that proclaim the best way to live your crappy life is to eat little rocks and crabgrass?

They will all become mandatory. No more ignoring them with a hearty chuckle.

All those nanny-state nannies are lining up in DROVES to join the panels to “HELP” you live a better life. And if you don’t do ALL of them, you’re cut off from medical care forever.

Every single thing you now do, in your own home and dinner table, is going to cost THEM some money.

EVERYTHING YOU DO. Make no mistake.

    Sucka.

Dayam. I wish you’d have chosen a different Louise Fletcher pose. That one gives me a tingle.

One can question whether there will by necessity be any rationing decisions that will need to come as a part of health care reform (and, in fact, we have) but pictures of government bureaucrats forcing euthanasia upon seniors — and, now, children with Down syndrome — because they’re not productive members of society are not part of any reasonable debate on the facts of the matter.

This Tapper person is very naive. Or disingenuous, or even scared, being married to a regional field manager for Planned Parenthood.

I’ve said this before on this site – one of the downfalls of Hillarycare was when it came out that “she” would cover amnio, prenatal, birth, but NO CARE for baby if you choose to deliver a diagnosed defective (i.e. Trig). Government care will have all kinds of opportunity to coerce individuals. It is NOT hyperbole to point out the evil possible and probable under these Ivy League geniuses. Juan Williams and Tapper can go to hell.

    OT here for a bit.

Hey all, I want to get you guys opinion on this. I trust your judgment. I was banned from LGF just moments ago for posting this in response to Charles:

Charles says( in reference to the townhall protestors in Tampa yelling and screaming):”Yep, I call it disgraceful. If you want to yell and scream, there’s a time and a place for that, and it isn’t at a town hall meeting.”

SGT Ted says:” These town halls meeting aren’t for discussion; they are being used to sell the government healthcare take over and/or to create the illusion that gov’t run health care is popular; this is proven by Democrats importing crowds favorable to their agenda and shutting out dissenters. These arrogant politcians NEED to be yelled at and reminded that they are SERVANTS of the people and not our rulers. These same Democrats whining about the protestors and calling for “civility” are the same ones trashing opponents just like Soviet Communists trashed their opponents, calling them “brown-shirts” and “tools of capitalists” and the protests are “phoney” and “bought and paid for”. People are fed up with being called “Nazis” and “class enemies” by these goons everytime they disagree with their agenda.

The time for civility has been over for some time, quite frankly. Because it never existed in the first place.”

So, was I so out of line?

  64. Comment by geoffb on 8/8 @ 9:50 am #

I notice in that Barbra Wagner link that Josef Tapper Goebbels refers to the “Oregon Health Plan” repeatedly as an “insurance company”. Only on the second page does he slip up:

The Oregon Health Plan was established in 1994 and the physician-assisted death law was enacted in 1997. The state was recently hailed by a University of Wisconsin study as having one of the nation’s top pain-management policies.

    …..

“It’s challenging because health care is very expensive, but that’s not the real essence of our priority list,” said Dr. Jeanene Smith, administrator for the Office of for Oregon’s Health Policy and Research staff.

“We need evidence to say it is a good use of taxpayer’s dollars,” she said. “It may be expensive, but if it does wonders, we cover it.”

The state also regularly evaluates and updates approvals for cancer treatments. “We look as exhaustively as we can with good peer review evidence,” she said.

Not a private company, but a “public option” that just happens to be government run.

    @SGT Ted, #Darleen

My LGF registration was also zotzed a few days ago, but I’m not complaining.

I said two things in my final post. I pointed out that LGF was completely wrong about one of his rants about Glenn Beck. LGF went off about how Beck was saying that the Cash for Clunkers program was all about the government trying to take over your computer. He included a video clip of Beck on his site.

I pointed out that Beck was highlighting the actual click through agreement, which said that for the purposes of the transaction, your computer was considered property of the US government, which was far from what LGF was claiming Beck said. I posted that the LGF headline was completely wrong.

But I went on to say that LGF had increasingly become Daily Kos Lite since the election, that he spent about 75% of his posts on sneering at conservatives, 20% on music videos (nothing wrong with that) and 5% on useful posts. I said it was time for this particular lizard to leave LGF.

I was surprised to see that Charles deleted my post almost immediately after I hit the “submit” button. He must have been reading the reactions to his Beck blog post in real time. Since I said I was going to stop reading LGF, I was glad he deleted my registration. I didn’t like the idea that my registration might inflate his membership numbers.

I had been reading LGF since the Rather MemoGate days. There have been several times when I came close to deciding to stop reading LGF but the last few months of Charle’s erratic posts and behaviour eventually made me decide to stop reading his site.

IMO, he might as well merge his blog as a page on Huffington or become a diary on Daily Kos.

Ah so you’r problem isn’t with this health care plan. Its with another one. I see. I assumed you were actually talking about the current proposal. This is america. We’ll leave places where the privileged can exercise their privilege.

The problem is the government is deciding what the program will be, which means they are the deciders. The current program may have options, but the availability of those options will be dependent on the whims of DC.

People on the right have to stop arguing about details, the details don’t matter.

What matters is who gets to choose.

if the Oregon govenment plan covers cancer treatment, then they should pay when the treatment IS effective (Oregon didn’t reject its effectiveness, just its cost). OR rationed..deciding Barbara was past her usefulness date so, better she either be warehoused until dead or just off-herself sooner.

and you are being a slandersnatch by trying to say single payer is not being proposed. Barney Frank stated any of these current bills is the first step towards single payer and to further substantiate that, Congress will be exempting itself (and several Democrat-supporting unions) from the bill.

Think of it…non-union American citizens will both be paying for everyone’s “healthcare” AND be rationed if they try to access it.

    Brave New World, indeed.

I love using arbitrary numbers out of thin air, especially since I’m almost positive people don’t want that extra year or two of living life anyway.

That’s actually not arbitrary. 5 years clean on a cancer diagnosis is the osetensibly “cured” standard. 5 year survivorship is the standard for measuring lethality. 5% and lower survivorship takes you to a “You’re fucked” set of diseases. Ted Kennedy has one of them.
