I find it sort of interesting that unemployment numbers are being reported by how much they are down. Not current percentage. Like, my area on that interactive map linked up there – it says it’s down 9point something percent. Down to WHAT? Or, should I say, up to what?
Are the numbers so bad, in certain areas, that the media doesn’t even want to list it? I’m wondering if the number is reaching upwards of 20% in certain localities, and they just don’t want to put that in print.

As I get older, I find that my taste in clothing is simplified, narrowed to just a few items. 90% of my days are spent in jeans–only Levi’s 505’s–, a dress shirt–only pinpoint no-wrinkle, usually LL Bean ’cause they have tall sizes–, and good, quality cowboy boots with a high polish on them.
Dressing is so much easier when you don’t really have to think.

Cowboy – I have a pair of basic Justin Ropers that are simply the most comfortable shoes to go on my feet. They get more comfortable every time I wear them. My favorite Levi’s are literally starting to get holes in them, and not the designer hip trendy kind of holes, but real holes from wear.

I settled on jeans as my main wear once out of high school. T-shirts Summer, flannel in Winter. They go through four stages. New, worn going out for causal dining, shopping, visiting folks. Slightly worn, wear to work. Quite worn, stained, small holes, wear around house and yard doing work. Worn out, put in storage for that day that the left makes it impossible to buy anything without standing in a line all day. Yeah, I’m a pack rat.
