    Who fired up Wone’s killer(s)?

  2. Comment by Dan Collins on 6/2 @ 8:05 am #

    Probably the electro-ejaculation machine.

  3. Comment by JD on 6/2 @ 8:07 am #

They will cover this more than the murder of the soldier, or the attacks at recruiting centers nationwide.

  4. Comment by Dan Collins on 6/2 @ 8:09 am #

It’s a more interesting case, JD.

OT Front page of Drudge has a link up where Obama says Iran has a legitimate reason to seek nuclear power. I am sure Israel is happy about this crap.

There hasn’t been any insertion of race into the discussion of this case that I remember seeing. This is an Asian what got objectified as a sexual submissive, which is something of a problem for Asians. It’s curious that nobody wants to kick that around.

    Also…

Then he answered his own question. “I think we were all drinking wine,” the detective said. And he imagined the men’s thoughts toward their visitor: “You are coming to Jesus tonight; that’s what is going on tonight.”

Ok that’s a weirdo thing to say.

    OT: apologies.

WaPo: Obama says Iran’s energy concerns legitimate.

    this is called managing expectations.

  8. Comment by happyfeet on 6/2 @ 8:27 am #

mcgruder do you have a link for that?

  9. Comment by happyfeet on 6/2 @ 8:28 am #

    oh. Drudge.

  10. Comment by JD on 6/2 @ 8:33 am #

He just conceded legitimacy to their nuclear weapons systems. Well done, Barcky. When they aim their nuclear “power” at another country, Teh One will … drumroll … blame Bush because gee, this stuff is hard.

  11. Comment by Mr. Pink on 6/2 @ 8:34 am #

When people were calling him Jimmy Carter on steroids they really weren’t lying.

  12. Comment by happyfeet on 6/2 @ 8:35 am #

good lord he’s a stupid stupid man. George Soros’ dirty socialist whore is gonna get people slaughtered to where they can’t just drink a pepsi and Refresh Everything.

  13. Comment by Bob Reed on 6/2 @ 8:38 am #

I guess the campaign promise that Iran will never be allowed to attain nuclear weapons just passed it’s expiration date…

Let’s see, Iran has the right to nuclear technology, while we here at home don’t; solar power and gerbil treadmills are enough for us…

And as a bonus, we’re going to cut of arms shipments to our allies the Israelis…

Oh man, this stufff makes my head hurt…

  14. Comment by Bob Reed on 6/2 @ 8:39 am #

Maybe Soros is “shorting” Israel, and the O!ne is just helping…

Nothing like a little insider assistance…

    No, it isn’t.

The recruitment center killing is actually a big deal, but it will be overshawdowed not because of the Wone murder, but because it messes up the Tiller finger pointing by the left.

Unfortunately the DC police appear to have greatly compromised the Wone murder investigation.

  17. Comment by Joe on 6/2 @ 8:48 am #

Dan, what interests you in the Wone murder is the murder mystery aspect and the suggestions that the DC police botched this over being too PC. But a Muslim convert–even if it turns out he is a lone wolf–killing American soliders in the United States is still a bigger deal to me than a limited gay sex crime (even if it appears these individuals may be serial).

  18. Comment by alppuccino on 6/2 @ 8:53 am #

President Barack Obama suggested that Iran may have some right to nuclear energy _ provided it proves by the end of the year that its aspirations are peaceful.

You know what would be a good reality TV show? Barack Obama taking an IQ test.

Well, maybe a reality TV commercial.

    …a 30 seconder.

  19. Comment by happyfeet on 6/2 @ 8:56 am #

they are both very interesting in different ways

I think I’m gonna start that banana diet today what the kids are doing in Japan.

  20. Comment by SarahW on 6/2 @ 8:56 am #

Maybe there’s a larger theme of recognizing and stopping mental illness/ obsession that leads to murder.
It’s just me, I think. I’m tired of people who are obvious dangers left to carom around while people try hard to discount the possibility they will act out violently.

  21. Comment by SarahW on 6/2 @ 8:57 am #

    There’s a banana diet?

  22. Comment by alppuccino on 6/2 @ 8:57 am #

    Monkeys love bananas.

A lot of people don’t know that.

i apologize again Dan for the threadjack.

Obama is making a big, and unusually broad, mistake.
I am no fan of Bush, but he was 100% spot on in this regard.

I’m just your ball of yarn, aren’t I mcgruder.

I’m kidding though. I’ve turned over a new leaf. To each his own. Have your nipples bled from the marathon training yet?

Slugblog makes a good point at AoS:

At the time of this writing, there are nearly 7,000 references to “George Tiller” in Google News.

There are under 500 for “William Long.”

George Tiller, of course, was the Kansas abortion doctor murdered Sunday morning by a man who allegedly had political and religious motives.

William Long was the 23-year-old military recruiter murdered Monday morning by a man who allegedly had political and religious motives.

George Tiller dedicated his life to killing fetuses.

William Long dedicated his to killing terrorists.

One story still has ‘legs,’ the other is yesterday’s news. Some priorities you’ve got there, MSM.

Nothing wrong in raising the Wone story Dan, it desevers to be paid attention so that justice can be done. But it is more of a regional story than a national one.

  29. Comment by Rob Crawford on 6/2 @ 9:03 am #

    RACIST!

    Weird article.

Pre-trial coverage is rarely so intent on instilling doubt re: prosecutorial narrative and forensic competence.

E.g. (because it’s a strikingly weird “e.g.”), neither 79 nor 42 minutes is a short time in which to accomplish what was done, especially for the kind of guy who did it (and for the types who’d cover for and/or join him), yet the shortness of either of those times is treated as given — and exculpatory, at least to the standard of doubt, in the case of the shorter time…because it’s shorter than short.

    That’s all just not so.

    Bad sign. Signal, even.

the suggestions that the DC police botched this over being too PC

Suggestors of that are being stupid. Regular sex-murdering gay guys get caught and convicted like any regular sex-murdering guys do. These guys don’t.

The analogy, if you’re comfortable with it (and conservatives tend not to be), is to the Ramsey case: Police resistance to nailing the obvious perps/conspirators, because of their social status, got the investigation started off-procedure, and they ended up with case too messy to bring to court.

These charges won’t stick. Maybe they’re not meant to.

  33. Comment by SarahW on 6/2 @ 9:30 am #

It’s a lot like the greek yogurt for breakfast diet. Which doesn’t work if you keep sneaking waffles in.

So psycho you are suggesting the DC police should have immediately focused on the housemates from the get?

As for the Ramsey case, after years of investigation is appears that the Ramseys really did not murder their daughter and that it far more likely to have been a deranged neighbor. Perhaps that is the same for Wone, but the only way to ever know that is a competent police investigation.

#31: Up is down and wrong is right. Big is small and black is white. Imagine hard enough, it all makes sense: if you squint real tightly, you can see Adolf shaking abdicated Edward’s hand.

  36. Comment by geoffb on 6/2 @ 9:57 am #

“Maybe there’s a larger theme of recognizing and stopping mental illness/ obsession that leads to murder.”

This would turn very bad, very quickly, with the current people in power. The Left has a long history of locking up it’s enemies as “mentally ill”. The treatments they give for that illness make “waterboarding” a lark.

  37. Comment by happyfeet on 6/2 @ 10:47 am #

oh. NG brought chockit chip breakfast cookies.

  38. Comment by Rob Crawford on 6/2 @ 10:47 am #

Geoffb — you have, I’m sure, noticed the constant drumbeat of articles proving “scientifically” that conservatives are mentally/emotionally deficient? The last one I heard about used the term “conservative syndrome”.

    happyfeet,

Maybe there’s a whole new diet regimen there amongst the choclate chip breakfast cookies…

Choclate chip cookies; breakfast of champions!

Well, at least it was when I was in college…
