What a busy guy, The Won, what with directing Chrysler’s marketing budget, deciding how to pay employees at financial institutions, and adding taxes on soda to help pay for ObamaRationedCare.
But no worries, I just got my latest begging missive from the OFA
Darleen –Over the past two weeks, I’ve been on a California Listening Tour, asking Organizing for America members where you want to go from here. I’ve talked with thousands of folks in every part of our state, and I have no doubt: Californians are still fired up, and ready to go!
I’ve heard loud and clear that you want to build something strong enough to change this country from the bottom up. You’re ready to fight for the President’s agenda, serve in your communities, and help new people participate in our democracy. So that’s exactly what we’re going to do.
We’re aiming to set up at least ten offices, hire more than 20 staff, and train volunteers to lead in neighborhoods across our state. But building the OFA you’ve asked for won’t be easy and it won’t be free. Before we commit to the plan we’ve created, we need to know we’ll have the resources to succeed.
Can you help build OFA in California with a monthly contribution of $5?
President Obama himself said it best on election night, didn’t he? “This victory alone is not the change we seek. It is only the chance for us to make that change.” Now President Obama is working hard to make the real changes this country needs — but he can’t do it alone.
California is close to receivership, Obama’s budget expressed in inches would take you to the moon and back more than 100 times, and the permanent campaign is trying to shake down even more money on a monthly basis.
Thanks, 52, now go f*ck yourselves.

wow, you’re an idiot. will you ever be pleased, or does the idea of the general populace evade you? if not i severly suggest you look up the meaning of “politics”.
and thanks for annotation, without it i would never have guessed that the man holding the soda was obama.

First, yesterday I was completely off Al Gore’s intertubes, and you guys were on freakin fire.
Second, qqqqqq, perhaps you have a newsletter to which I could subscribe. I find your opinions fascinating.

Got it. Now you look up the meaning of “rule of law”, “tyranny of the majority”, and “individual rights”.
After you get a dictionary and learn to read.

And OFAy? Are they for real?

Hi! q.
Is that your IQ?
Bye q.

Looks great, Darleen. Ignore the quibbling quack, she’s had too much to quaff.

48 to 5Q: let’s see how long your queasy coalitions of nirvanic lefty socialisms survive after capitalism’s vanquished. We will not survive as a nation without it.
We have to dance with the one what brung us.

Typical illiterate Obama voter.

#1. It’s always nice to hear directly from the intellectual elite. Are you a ‘news’ anchor?

not to worry about qqqqqq, s/he is commenting from what used to be known as Great Britain.
Probably jealous if the Sons and Daughters of liberty can succeed in resisting The Won from making America over in Europe’s declining image.
q is just another Quisling.

Britain. Isn’t that where they pay for politician’s porn?
Perhaps an exchange program could be arranged for Barney Fwank. He’s already saved Fannie and Freddy and his talents shouldn’t go to waste.

Throw in a tax deduction for pot and I’ll think about it.

I guess we weren’t able to keep our republic.
Damn. It worked so well.

I googled OFA and got Orthopedic Foundation for Animals, Ohio Florists Association, Orphan Foundation of America, Ontario Federation of Agriculture, and several others which I’d guess you’re not on the email list for. So clue my dumb ass in: What’s OFA?
Comment by Seth on 5/13 @ 8:08 am #
Rob: so right. We’re slipping from polity to democracy, I think: from rule of the many for the common good to rule of the many for good of only the many. I should think that we will find that tyranny waits expectantly in the wings once that particular rubicon has been crossed.

Obama for America.

Pablo: great video, the positive corelation between wealth and health of a nation are well illustrated.
Puts The Won’s statements that you must have a massive health entitilement as a prerequisite to economic growth in a realing light, doesn’t it?
Comment by Rob Crawford on 5/13 @ 8:22 am #
What Mr. Pink said. Also, a racist term for whites.
Comment by John_R on 5/13 @ 8:43 am #
Darleen, you left out Obama’s blatant lying about the Chrysler deal:
But this “will not disrupt the lives of the people who work at Chrysler or the communities that depend on it,” Obama said.
…
Maybe someone should have asked what the White House meant by “no plans” and “disrupt.”
Congress members say they were blind-sided by the news the next day, May 1, that Chrysler in fact intended to permanently shutter five plants: one each in Ohio, Wisconsin and Missouri, and two in Michigan.

“Community” and “Organizing” the new “Peoples” and “Liberation” for naming groups. “Democratic” remains the same. “Socialist” and “Army” have been removed for active use due to unfortunate present day connotations but promise a comeback soon.

Camille Paglia seems to have picked up the meme put forward in the Sara Robinson piece which Darleen’s post “Warning…” linked, albeit placing that meme into another context (talk radio) and having the
temeritycourage to mention Wanda Sykes (all while minimizing and excusing her ["clumsy jibes...was rushed and inept"] in the same breath). Hand firmly over her eyes, Paglia:Comment by Sdferr on 5/13 @ 10:01 am #
Link.
Comment by Rob Crawford on 5/13 @ 10:09 am #
Is there any argument about this?

Camille just knows, Rob. (hand firmly over eyes.) oh, and shut up.
Comment by MarkD on 5/13 @ 10:40 am #
Increasing rancor? What world does Paglia live in? Paglia is shocked and horrified when verbal abuse is directed in other than its common course.
Nobody I know has called Obama Hitler.
Comment by geoffb on 5/13 @ 10:45 am #
She seems to be going into the same mode as that Alan Wolfe piece you linked to in “Cemented homophia”.
On the Left and for the Pragmatics there seems to be a palpable fear. Born of their innate knowledge of what the far reaches of the Left are capable of doing. It is causing all those who might be seen as having ties to conservative positions to sever those ties as quickly as they can do so. They feel a tsunami coming. I do too, but have hope that it is not the one they seem to fear.

It is a commonplace that petty thieves get a significant jolt of adrenaline in the progress of their deeds inducing a kind of high at the risk-taking. It doesn’t come about on account of their awareness of their innocence.
Comment by geoffb on 5/13 @ 10:58 am #
Perhaps my problem is that I have never been of the “adrenaline junkie” type, at least not since childhood. It may influence my worldview.
Comment by Salt Lick on 5/13 @ 11:19 am #
Maybe I’m misinformed, but I like Paglia. I think I could have a really good evening if ever I got to hang out with her and Tammy Bruce.
On the other hand, I hope Paglia eventually gets to see some conservative students seize a university president’s office and shit on his desk in a demand for more intellectual diversity on campus. Maybe she’s one of those girls who looks really hot when they get really scared.
Comment by Sdferr on 5/13 @ 11:23 am #
Just so it’s clear, I don’t dislike Paglia, Salt Lick. I don’t know her at all in any sense in which I’d feel comfortable forming that judgment about her. I have liked (even in this case) quite a lot of the stuff she writes.
Comment by Salt Lick on 5/13 @ 12:02 pm #
Sdferr — I don’t know all her stuff, either, but what I do know strikes me as very OUTLAW!
Cheers,
