In case you might be wondering why I’ve been gone the last couple of days ….

#1 daughter and fiance decided that the rest of the year was way too busy to plan a large wedding (plus expense on top of a new house, new jobs, etc). So they decided just this last weekend to go to Vegas and get married Tuesday. They were thinking of just eloping, but word leaked out …
Hence, a mad scramble as family that could make it made arrangements. Just so happened, my parents were already going to be in Vegas celebrating their 58th wedding anniversary … same day as #1’s wedding.
Excellent time had by all!
UPDATE:
#4 & #3 Daughters (dinner after wedding at Zefferino’s in the Venetian.

Big congratulations all around!
And I’m sure I’m not the first to note that #1 daughter looks a lot like you. Must be good genes.
Comment by happyfeet on 4/29 @ 7:37 pm #
I think the not large wedding thing is not just sensible but also it’s hard not to think that kids what are having extravagant weddings do not understand what has happened to their little country in the past few months.

That Travis looks like an oppressive bastard. Damned fine work, young man. Full speed ahead with the uterine occupation!
In all seriousness, hearty congratulations to all. Now make babies!
Comment by Makewi on 4/29 @ 8:13 pm #
Oh, I was married at that same chapel I’m pretty sure and I had my reception at the Venetian. Stop copying me!
Comment by happyfeet on 4/29 @ 8:24 pm #
It’s not an easy decision to bring a little baby person into our blighted dirty socialist little country. It’s a lot the same as being Elian Gonzalez’s daddy except if Elian’s daddy wasn’t a stupid pliant commie kool-aid drinker. Except also when you’re born into our blighted dirty socialist little country then swimming to Cuba for a better life is just not really an option. Just sort of a silly idea on its face really.

HA!
Matt the Marine called on a Friday, said he was coming home on on leave Monday, and that he and his fiance were getting married on Friday.
We carried it off, don’t ask me how.

How much for Nos. 3 and 4? Your women, I want to buy your women.

The woman I oppress to the best of my ability has a bunch of sisters. The almost-sameness of all their faces continually startles me. And I got “the hot one,” so there’s a…weirdness…with the other ones’ guys…that…shows…sometimes…
Don’t ever discuss this with the son-in-laws, I’m saying. And don’t think about it. Especially not on a fine occasion such as this.
(Is that a weird enough congratulatory comment to not sound bullshitty? I hope so.)
