reporters are sometimes told to ask certain things though… he did kinda sound like he was more than happy to go back to his editor person and say ok I asked your question and he told me to shut up and also that I was stupid. After that I didn’t ask anymore questions. Well because he already said I was stupid and also I was hungry and there was a Jack in the Box across the street and I love their tacos.

Tangible common equity is the metric. I think that wipes out HBAN, RF, and FITB and their pref.s are bound to get pummeled to shit.

One should be looking to scoop some corp pref.s, Alcoa, GE, Met Life and Sallie Mae come to mind, and try to watch what banks can survive the new metric, then of course watch the pricing in their pref.s, if they have preferreds available. Realize that when FITB’s pref. hit $16-$18 it was yielding in the 50% cy range.

What do those torn-up knees incrementally cost the university’s health insurance? Has UConn renovated or built a b-ball stadium? The University of Texas at Austin, Texas A&M University at College Station and Texas Tech University are also hoping for help from lawmakers. Officials at all three universities said they are asking for more money to help offset endowment losses and are holding off on spending cuts until they know more…That help isn’t likely to come, according to Sen. Judith Zaffirini, D-Laredo, chair of the Subcommittee on Higher Education. She said that state leaders have asked for 10 percent spending cuts from state agencies and that other senators are more focused on such higher education issues as changes to the “top 10 percent rule.”
