More Moonbattery [Dan Collins]

Where’s the rage?

While performing at the inaugural ball honoring America’s military veterans, some wounded vets are reported to have walked out on funk Musician George Clinton over a perceived on stage insult to George W. Bush.

The Washington Times is reporting that during the Heroes Red, White and Blue Inaugural Ball a white towel with the word “[Expletive] GEORGE” spelled out on it was displayed by band members of George Clinton and the P. Funk All-Stars.

Some veterans felt the display was an insult to George W. Bush, and one band member quickly pulled the sign down when it was noticed that wounded vets were leaving in disgust. Band members denied that the sign was any reference to the President and said that it was supposed to be a sign to their own band leader, George Clinton.

On the plus side, Larry King was there. So, that must have been a thrill for them.

Where is the rage? (7 times)

Where is the rage
You said you’d give to me
soon as you were free
will it ever be
Where is the rage?

You told me that you really hated him,
and you were gonna make him cry
witness the shredded constitution,
why did you have to lie?

Where is the rage,
you said was mine all mine, till the end of time
was it just a lie
where is the rage?

If you had had a sudden change of heart
I wish that you would tell me so
don’t leave me hangin on the promises
you’ve got to let me know

Oh how I wish I never trusted you
I guess it must have been my fate
to fall in love with someone else’s rage
and now I masturbate
(that’s all I can do)
yeah yeah yeah

Where is the rage? (vamp until end)

Unity … hope … change … please folks, they’re not done venting about how fucking stupid George Bush was, but we ask that you look beyond this in the name of post-partisanship.

  2. Comment by Slartibartfast on 1/22 @ 10:41 am #

Easy enough mistake to make. Imagine how many would have walked out if the sign had said “[Expletive] Clinton”.

I’m sure it was a joke on George Clinton. They would never be rude to George W. Bush!

Leftists are always so … classy.

Now if it had said “Buck Farack”…

Well that would have been a horse of a whole different, ahem, color

    I denounce myself in advance….

Lefties have a tin ear for the political.

Obama will never have the respect of the military that Bush had. He knows it, and his followers know it.

  7. Comment by cranky-d on 1/22 @ 10:56 am #

Not that the men and women who serve won’t be anything less than respectful to him, of course. They’re classy that way.

Was that the ball that Barack (PBUH) didn’t attend?

  9. Comment by Bob Reed on 1/22 @ 10:58 am #

Shure they were referring to Gearge Clinton…

Just like Obama was merely scratching an itch when everyone thought he was surreptitiously flipping off Hillary…

Scratching an itch alright, a childish one at that…

All these folks think they’re being sooooooooo clever; and have afforded themselves plausible deniability. But everyone remembers this kind of sophmoric behavior from adolescence…

And they remember what kind of assholes engaged in that kind of behavior…

And all this episode, and the Jay-z and young Jeezy ones do is to reinforce the fact that mostly, those kind of assholes reside on the left, politically, and voted for Obama…

But then, who didn’t know that…

“That’s where the people who did not vote for Obama are supposed to sit the fuck down and shut the fuck up.”

That’s kind of like the “diviseness” of the Bush presidency. “He didn’t agree with us, so he’s divisive!”. The children could use some disciplinin’.

In their defense, EVERYONE they know hates Bush, so they just figured it was universal. Since practically no one from the left would have shown respect for Bush at a similar event, they assumed that those attending must have been Obamabots.

Washington DC is Chocolate City you know. It actually may have been about George Clinton, to be honest, the All-Stars are a strange band of cats. Still, bad timing and context, particularly as President Obama snubbed the wounded vets ball so he could make time to go to the MTV ball.

  32. Comment by ushie on 1/22 @ 2:33 pm #

“The MTV ball.” Isn’t that the final sign of the apocalypse?

  33. Comment by Dan Collins on 1/22 @ 2:38 pm #

  34. Comment by 38+P on 1/22 @ 2:39 pm #

Regardless of the intended recipient, this is a shining example of the classless behavior typical of the left in this country. This was a presidential inaugural ball for heaven’s sake! It appears we can expect the coarsening of life in America to accelerate.

Well you have to figure they are so aware of the left and President Clinton they’d know that could be taken wrong, but you have to realize, these guys are really weird. One of the guys wears a wedding dress on stage, they are some strange, stoned dudes. They also could have thought about the double meaning and had a defense ready too. No telling what people are thinking, but any way you look at it, that’s in bad taste and bad timing.

  39. Comment by Jenn on 1/22 @ 3:03 pm #

Typical Moonbats. And their excuse is about as pathetic as it gets.

  40. Comment by Spies, Brigands, and Pirates on 1/22 @ 5:38 pm #

George Clinton has always been a shit-stirrer, so I could buy that it was a double entendre. Not for a minute do I believe that they were blind to the Bush angle.

Especially not in a world where describing a budget as “niggardly” gets you branded as a racist.

  41. Comment by Mikey NTH on 1/22 @ 5:48 pm #

    meya:

I am sure Mr. Bush was more than happy to leave and actually get a good night’s sleep.

President Obama has my sympathies, he will age beyond his years in that job. The Buck Stops There, he is now The Decider. Of the post WWII presidents, I think that only Eisenhower had a realistic idea of what he was in for.

  42. Comment by Mikey NTH on 1/22 @ 5:54 pm #

I am aware that most here know this, but HST’s famous ‘Buck’ meant passing responsibility and a decision further up the chain. It didn’t, couldn’t, go higher than the Oval Office. GWB understood that in a simple phrase – “I’m the decider.”

President Obama is the decider now.

  43. Comment by kelly on 1/22 @ 5:58 pm #

    He doesn’t have my sympathies.

He bullshitted his way into the job and now he gets to figure out how unqualified he was in the first place. Not that he or his slobbering sycophants will ever admit it.

    God help us all.

Assclown, shutting down Gitmo doesn’t bother me at all.

It bothers me more that people don’t fucking understand why the Geneva Conventions came about and why they are structured the way they are. If you *did* understand those things, then you’d realize that treating non-signatories and/or violators of the GC in the exact same way as you would signatories that follow them is foolish beyond words. Unless, of course, you really do want to have even more non-signatories and/or violators of the GC.
