… is it still a lie?
There has been a big buzz on the blogospere since US mega-blog Powerline picked up on evidence proving that Barack Obama was, in the mid ’90s, a member of a short-lived socialist organisation, the Chicago New Party.
Democratic Socialists of America (DSA), which also endorsed Obama that year and to which the Senator has longstanding and ongoing ties, has also been dragged into the fray.
The Obama camp has countered in two ways.
Firstly-claiming that while Obama was endorsed by the New Party he was never a member.
That lie is easily disposed of.
Here is a photo of Obama and other New Party members, including Danny K Davis (centre) from the front page of New Party News, Spring 1996.
Page 2 includes this paragraph;
“New Party members won three other primaries this Spring in Chicago: Barack Obama (State Senate), Michael Chandler (Democratic Party Committee) and Patricia Martin (Cook County Judiciary)…”these victories prove that small ‘d’ democracy can work’ said Obama”.
Really. Nothing to see here, move along. The MSM has more important things to do, like deliberately mis-transcribing Palin statements and lamenting the horror of racist, angry GOPers at McCain/Palin rallies (mobys? what mobys?).

The photo caption differentiates between “NP members” and “NP endorsed”. If page two does say “members…Obama” then it conflicts with the photo caption.
So which is correct?

ACORN Falls Close To Tree—–Eyebrows were raised last week by a fundraising invitation sent by the Friends Of Bill de Blasio. de Blasio, who managed Hillary Clinton’s Senate campaign, held the December 7 event to fund his run for the 39th Councilmanic District seat.
The invitation listed the committee’s address as 88 Third Avenue, which may be familiar to some as the address for the community group ACORN. The contact on the invitation was Kara Hood, an ACORN political organizer. One insider thought that the connection between the candidate and the community group was too tight, and could imply that ACORN’s stance on community issues was politicized. “That’s a little too close for comfort for me,” he said.

If Baracky didn’t embrace socialist policies and didn’t go to a marxist church for twenty years and wasn’t super best friends with socialists and terrorists I think it would be easier to downplay his affiliation with this particular socialist party.

Baracky Chavez and his media are same as terrorists I think. They just decided to dispense with waiting for actual terrorist strikes and crafted their news to instill the same anxieties, fears, and lack of confidence that terrorists set out to instill with bombs and germs and things.

It’s be nice to see a photo of the second page with the quote above. Also, a brief search didn’t turn up proof of Powerline’s contention that the DSA was the “parent organization” of the NP.
As for the MSM, it should have been obvious months or years ago that there are lots and lots of stories they simply will not cover, and if you want something to be covered you have to do it yourself. The most devastatingly effective way to do that is to go out and ask BHO about the NP or other topics to his face at one of his appearances. Get his response on video and upload it to Youtube. That would cut the MSM out of the equation entirely.
Instead of waiting in vain for the MSM to do something, go out and do it yourself.

Surely education is a real issue, with American school children consistently scoring below those in other countries, and children in minority communities faring worst of all.
What about Senator Obama’s position on this real issue? As with other issues, he has talked one way and acted the opposite way.
The education situation in Obama’s home base of Chicago is one of the worst in the nation for the children  and one of the best for the unionized teachers.
Fewer than one-third of Chicago’s high-school juniors meet the statewide standards on tests. Only 6 percent of the youngsters who enter Chicago high schools become college graduates by the time they are 25 years old.
The problem is not money: Chicago spends more than $10,000 per student.
Chicago teachers are doing well. A beginning teacher, fresh out of college, earns more than the city’s median income and that can rise to more than $100,000 over the years.

That’s for teaching 6 hours a day, 9 months of the year. Moreover, a teacher’s income is dependent on seniority and other such factors  and in no way dependent on whether their students are actually learning anything.
Obama has said eloquent and lofty words about education, as he has about other things  for example, how it is “unacceptable in a country as wealthy as ours” that some children “are not getting a decent shot at life” because of the failing schools.
In a predominantly black suburb of Chicago, where the average teacher’s salary is $83,000 and one-fourth of the teachers make more than $100,000, Barack Obama noted that the school day ends at 1:30 PM.
In his book “Dreams from My Father,” Obama said candidly that black teachers and administrators “defend the status quo with the same skill and vigor as their white counterparts of two decades before.”
It is not a question of Obama’s not knowing. He has demonstrated conclusively that he knows what is going on.
But, for all his eloquent words, he has voted consistently for the teachers’ unions and the status quo.
“I owe those unions,” he has said frankly. “When their leaders call, I do my best to call them back right away. I don’t consider this corrupting in any way.”
Only other politicians’ special interests are called “special interests” by Barack Obama, whose world-class ability to rationalize is his most frightening skill.
Even when he verbally endorses the reform idea of merit pay for teachers, he cleverly re-defines merit so that it will be measured by teachers themselves, rather than by “arbitrary tests.” In other words, Obama placates critics of the educational status quo by being for merit pay in words, while making those words meaningless, so as not to offend the teachers’ unions.
