As I’ve said before, if you were watching CNN’s debate coverage you would have seen a live graph at the bottom showing I/D/R responses in real time.
When McCain started his sneering grimace (or is it his warface?)
the I’s dropped into the drink like a lead sinker. When Obama spoke, it rose above the mid-point to the same degree.
All we needed was to get this angry, mean-spirited old fart on national TV with all the warts. The rest is history.

I still think there’s opportunity here. Get some ads out there (if the campaign doesn’t do it, get the 527s), unloading broadsides into the Democratic congressional majorities. Hits Obama with collateral association, and at least has the chance to lower people’s perception of the whole thing so more stay home rather than go add votes for whatever’s -(D).

It’s incredibly easy to describe how to turn things around:
1. Go to a BHO appearance.
2. Ask him a real question and get his response on video, then upload it to Youtube.
3. Repeat a few times.
BHO has rarely been pressed on anything, and when he was he didn’t respond too well. Call him on one of his lies to his face and who knows what will happen? If the question is good enough that might end his campaign then and there.
I’ve even offered to pay people to do that without any takers, and I’ll offer to help craft any questions in order to minimize the possibility of him ducking the question or responding with a stock speech. But, I need others to help encourage people to go out and ask him questions.

There will be no despairings. If you feel you are getting despaired you are simply watching or hearing or reading things what are making you feel like this way. This is on purpose. All I can tell you is stop giving it your monies and your attentions. This is hard for people with things like families, but you just have to figure out how to displace as much of this crap as possible. Also you’ll feel better if you work out. Jeff sorta covered that part though. But chin up, for real. Baracky is a callow absurdity what is being shepherded by his media pals is all. But that don’t make him no pezzydent. People isn’t dumb.

The only example offhand I can recall of him being asked a citizen question and it turning out badly was the one where he was raising his voice at the senior asking about terrorism and border control (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ty6krf18huA), but that was recorded last year sometime when he was still running for the primaries. The townhall style debate would be the perfect place, except that all questions there are chosen and screened ahead of time by moderators, so there probably won’t be any surprises or heavy Obama-skewering questions selected to be asked.
Anyway, if we had these poll numbers 5 days out from the election, then it’d be upsetting. 5 weeks out, there’s just too much up-and-down volatility in polling and too much time for opinion to be influenced by debates, ads, gaffes, economic circumstances, foreign circumstances, and how much money people win at Plinko on Drew Carey’s The Price is Right. There’s too much time left for them to be comfortable is running out the clock, so let’s get back to closing the gap from where we are, not from where we’d like to be.

My whole life I’ve made myself unhappy by looking for shit to piss me off. At this moment I have achieved what I believe to be as objective an understanding of the current state of affairs – economic, political, and social – and understand that all are astronomically beyond my control. My only avenues for direct influence will be minuscule against the scale of the issues and conflicts.
So I’m sending money order for forty to McCain, and then I’m heading downstairs to putter for a bit, then to bed.
I don’t think we’re ready to chuck it – this freedom thing. And that means no Obama. The calls to congress critters were as high as a hundred to one against nationalizing the economy. This after a straight week of drumbeat MSM indictment of Republicans, capitalism, and business.
Freedom must mean free to fail, or it’s just a carnival ride. A damned lie.
