RIP - Tony Snow [Darleen Click]

One of the most memorable, funny, erudite White House press secretary in recent memory, Tony Snow lost his battle with cancer today. He was only 53.

Prayers and condolences to his family.

    Aw, shit.

My sentiments exactly. I heard him on the radio only a month or so ago, and thought maybe he had a handle on this thing after all.

    Dammit.

He will be sorely missed, as one of the most intelligent and erudite commentators around. And he knew his way around D.C., which helped a lot. The LSM didn’t like him, because he could and did bitch-slap them with a smile every day when he was WH press secretary. It was fun to watch.

Godspeed Snowman. We will miss you…

Of course, Snow’s passing brings out the best in moonbats.

Looks like HuffPo closed the comment section on their Tony Snow entry.

    Heh.

This is awful news. What a genuinely intelligent and thoughtful man. I’d thought he was doing better. Shows how much I know.

    Crap.

As for the assholes who relish in his death as we would, say, the death of Zarqawi, I feel sorry for them — but if I met them personally, it would be the contempt I also felt for them that they’d remember.

He was the best of his chosen profession, particularly rare in his self knowledge. A journalist who could cheerfully say, ‘I don’t know’ and would then rush off to find out, where his peers would just fake it.

Too young. Too young. A reasonable man in an unreasonable proffession. He is missed.

Tony Snow is the perfect example of the optimistic attitude that comes with the world view that he held. He will be an example that I will use while continuing to instill the importance of being positive in my children.

Those poor people at KOS also make a great reinforcement of the notion that when complainers and whiners complain and whine, they might as well grab a big handful of their own shit and smear it on themselves. It has the same effect. They should be avoided/ignored at all costs.

I know there are some here that are not big fans of NRO, but there are a number of fine remembrances at The Corner at the moment, nost of which unintentionally reveal things we could learn from Snow’s example.

The world is a much poorer place today. And you’d have to be diseased to hate Tony Snow. So it is.

Godspeed, Tony. Thanks for the light.

After reading the tributes to Tony Snow on NRO, it only reinforces to me that, at this of all times, we needed that man around.

He will indeed be sorely missed.

That is incredibly sad. He was a very intelligent and classy individual.

Darleen, that was actually a fairly nice diary entry. But I didn’t bother to read the comments though. KOS is ruled by the worst trolls on in the universe.

Reading through that filth over at Kos really upset me. I’ve posted just the first few choice bits in a new entry, here.

I’m actually shaking now. As a father myself, I imagine his children one day coming across some of these sentiments, and it makes me want to lash out and hit something. Hard.

We have become a society devoid of decency and steeped in entitlement. Not what I signed on to.

My wife and I thought the world of him. Fox News Sunday was never the same after he left. Too young, too young. I’m going to miss his wonderful smile and humor. They are hard to find nowadays. Our prayers to his family.

“We have become a society devoid of decency and steeped in entitlement. Not what I signed on to.

Well… I always make a point of delineating between opposition and enemy.

Take a good look at those on the “other side”.

How many elections do they need to win to make sure their way is THE way?

Forget one president. Try one judge. And the world changes.

Maybe now you understand, if not agree, with some of my more … vapor filled moments?

This is a small video moment of Tony Snow that I like.

A guy of pure class. He will be missed.

May God stand with his family now in their dark hour. May he likewise show those heartless idiots in the comments at KOS the error of their ways.

    - The tribute at Kos was well done, for that community of scum suckers and bottom feeders. Its a sorry statement that they have to be viewed in such a suspicious light, but the comments all tend toward the political anyway, even in this time of loss for everyone.

    - Don’t let it bother you Jeff. I firmely believe that people that have no sense of personal decency will pay the price someday. As in all things they fail to believe even in Karma. So their time will come, and they will be judged on a far more exacting level than any of us could ever manage. And that judgment will be a death by a thousands cuts. That which they sew, so shall they reap.

    - When a really good man passes, we are all worse off for his passing, and all better off for his having lived.

    - RIP Tony, not to worry, all our prayers are with your family.
