Me: While I was pumping $58 into my car’s gas tank yesterday, I heard that House Dems voted down tapping into something like 8.5 trillion gallons of oil and it got me thinking just how selfish I am, what with the expecting of my lifestyle the liberty of movement and a single-family home and kids and airconditioning and the occasional traveling and all.
Jimmy Carter’s sweater:
Me: That oil was locked up 27 years ago as a lasting legacy of your lesson to us about living with less and rejecting the American Dream. Or at least to affect a slight air of being ashamed of the American lifestyle.
Jimmy Carter’s sweater:
Me: certainly your ideological heir, Barry O!, doesn’t seem to mind high prices, just he wished that the price hadn’t risen too fast. Frogs in a pot on the stove and all. Who would have thought a man so ostensibly intent on the future really wants the hoi polloi to be forcibly returned to the days of one or no-car families, rare air travel, rare restaurant visits and restricted home ownership?
Jimmy Carter’s sweater:
Me: One word of advice? Hang out in a good breeze, otherwise the scent of victory as you return to the White House will be forever linked to mothballs.

Who cares what Jimmuh’s sweater says?
I am much more intrigued by what that atomic penis might have to say.

think that I would have preferred a gradual adjustment. The fact that this is such a shock to American pocketbooks is not a good thing. But if we take some steps right now to help people make the adjustment, first of all by putting more money in their pockets, but also by encouraging the market to adapt to these new circumstances more rapidly, particularly U.S. automakers…
How about we LEAVE the money in their pocket? Oh, but we need to tax all the richies to put money in the working man’s pocket.
Michigan business (local gov stuff) are fleeing the state because of the new business tax instituted last fall to get us out of a budget crises. They are being driven OUT of business and out of the state by taxes. And, guess what? Michigan is STILL in the hole. What?!? The new tax didn’t cover everything?
Blow me over with a fraking feather.

BECAUSE OF THE CARDIGAN!!!!!!!!!

Perhaps the relevant difference between Michigan and the Federal gov is that the US Treasury gets to print the currency?
Comment by Carin -BONC on 6/12 @ 8:33 am #
Michigan is a microcosm of the US under Dem control. Except most business will have no where to flee and will simply go belly up.

Jimmy Carter’s Sweater: Listen, lady, quit your yammerin’. Between him tryin’ to hammer nails, pissing off jews and generally making a senile spectacle of himself, I’d just as soon be unraveled and rewoven as a spangly full body suit for one of Paris Hilton’s little rat dogs. At least I’d get a chance to check out what a real>/i> slut does behind closed doors.
Besides, it’s friggin’ hot and when Jimmah sweats, he smells like a rancid combination organic peanut butter and Arthritis Pain Formula.

Carter’s Little Liver Pills demand equal time.
Me: Ok. Here’s your chance to speak your mind. Go for it.
Carter’s Liver Pills: …
Me: Alright then… Excellent sweater rebuttal.

Lets see the Supreme Court hand down a habeas ruling on THAT.

Come November, at least in my little pocket of the world, it starts getting pretty chilly.
I hope the Dems continue to reject measures to increase the supply of oil. That’s a winning strategy, boys.

Politicians definitely prefer their voters like their frogs… on a slow boil. Locks in the flavor.

Darleen, how about a conversation with the “killer rabbit” Jimmah encountered while on a fishing trip in 1979?

It seems to be–they’ll get to run PSAs about how generous Hugo Chavez is for donating fuel oil and how awesome they are for accepting it.

Cowboy – The policies have never been held to account by the Republicans, the media (as if), or the voters. Why would it be any different now?

The last conversation with my own sweater ended something like this:
Sweater: You know, I liked it a lot more when you used to take me out; to eat, or a movie, or just for a walk. I’m really getting tired of “Law and Order” re-runs.
/or was that my wife?

The last conversation with one of my sweaters went like this:
me: fucking sweaters! I turn my back on you for a Summer… and leave you to your own devices. And what do you do? You go and shrink on me.. so I look like 52lbs of potatoes in a 5lb sack. WTF.
sweater: hey man, maybe this food inflation thing is not such a bad thing in your case, fat ass!
