Someone remind me, Obama is running for Big Daddy President of what country? [Darleen Click]

Curious statement during the debate from Obamessiah

frankly, President Bush dropped the ball. He has been so obsessed with Iraq that we have not seen the kinds of outreach and cooperative work that would ensure that the Mexican economy is working not just for the very wealthy in Mexico, but for all people. And that’s as policy that I’m going to change when I’m president of the United States.

And fluffy bunnies! From Canada to Mexico, fluffy bunnies for everyone!

someone on another blog mentioned this too.

ensure that the Mexican economy is working not just for the very wealthy in Mexico, but for all people.

I’m kind of Ok with this, if it means strongarming the robber barons from stealing from peeps and forcing the Elitist criminals to allow for everyone to have an opportunity - I’m cool with mexicans staying mexico for a change.

I’m sure in Obama speak it means US taxpayer money. I’d like it in the form of a border fence and NO taxpayer money though.

Or we could just annex Mexico pre-emptively. They seem to be bent on taking back the border states.

Obama actually went into greater detail in a recent opinion piece, including dog-whistling his support for at least the SPP and quite possibly the NAU. He was clearly speaking in code, the only question is: to whom? Excerpts at my name’s link.

As for tonight’s debate, here’s something CNN forgot to tell you about one of their questioners. At least their previous plants were Americans.

That is pretty appalling. I’m going to link that.

Plus the Messiah is going to talk with Cuba, Syria, Iran, North Korea and any of our other enemies without any preconditions.

Apart from giving me weird feelings in my pants, he makes me want to break out singing “I’d like to buy the world a coke” for some strange reason.

    Daley

I don’t get their idea that all Iran needs is a good talkiness too. A full on Oprah moment with Ahmadinejad is all that is needed. If that were the case why didn’t Clinton and Dems do that with all these lovely dictators and tyrants in all the 8 years Clinton was president? Madame Albright (who looks like a chubby Lady Elaine I’ll add) ?

Can you wear a sombrero with a dark suit, or do you need to throw a lighter poncho over it?

  11. Comment by Dan Collins on 2/22 @ 5:39 am #

    You need a sombererero.

Barry wants to “ensure that the Mexican economy is working not just for the very wealthy in Mexico, but for all people”? I want some of what he’s smokin’.

‘Course, this is just an expansion of the usual lefty promise to make the American economy work for all the people. It’s the most platitudinous of platitudes. Empty rhetoric from an empty — but very sparkly! — suit.

  18. Comment by AJB on 2/22 @ 10:20 am #

Why is this a bad thing?

The Mexican economic system is notoriously corrupt and largely run by an oligarchy not too different from what we saw in Yeltsin’s Russia. Even from a pro-free market perspective, the Mexican government’s corruption keeps a lot of the wealth Mexico produces from trickling down to the general population. He’s not necessarily talking about foreign aid, he’s talking about fighting corruption in other countries. Which is pretty much the same thing Bush is doing in Africa. So, what’s the problem?

Besides, wouldn’t it be better for Mexico to do a better job of taking care of its own population than to have them keep coming over here?

  19. Comment by JD on 2/22 @ 10:31 am #

So, AJB, not only will he socialize our economy, but Mexico’s as well? And Bush is an imperialist …

    Darleen-
Did you see this line from Obama in the debate last night:

Because the problem is, if we think that meeting with the president is a privilege that has to be earned, I think that reinforces the sense that we stand above the rest of the world at this point in time. And I think that it’s important for us in undoing the damage that has been done over the last seven years, for the president to be willing to take that extra step.

    It troubles me.

  21. Comment by peter jackson on 2/22 @ 1:24 pm #

It troubles me too MayBee, because it sounds like the reasoning of a fucking kid who thinks he can simply bullshit his way out of anything.

Why is this a bad thing?

Because he’s not running for office in Mexico, and as bad as it is for us that Mexico sucks ass, it’s none of our goddamned business.

Obama wants to save the world? Fine — run for whatever office has that job. The chief executive of the United States is not the place to do that.
