Picture This [Dan Collins]

Everybody’s noticed the swelling on the left side of McCain’s face.  So, my question is . . . do the political cartoonists start drawing him with a lopsided head, or is it just too un-PC, even to do to a Rethug?

    Let’s watch.

BTW, I was going to hold my next post for Sunday, but had to launch now that it’s breaking big on Memeorandum.

He looks like he might have a scar there. Maybe he dripped over his dog’s water dish and fell into the espresso machine and slashed his face open on that little handle you twist when you want steam.

K – did you see you got a link from Glenn?

  4. Comment by Karl on 2/16 @ 11:06 pm #

The scar may be from his melanoma a few years back.

BTW, about 1:30 into that video, Dan sorta gets his wish.

    hf,

    No, thanks for the heads-up!

  7. Comment by happyfeet on 2/16 @ 11:09 pm #

Oh. Or maybe he had skin cancer surgery. I could see it happening either way.

  8. Comment by happyfeet on 2/16 @ 11:10 pm #

They actually explain all that in the vid Karl linked.

    hf,

Oddly, I already knew about the scar, and had not watched the video (it was a link I had bookmarked for future research). So it was a double-bonus.

Have you noticed that McCain can’t lift his arms up all the way, either? And has a little limp?
Ha ha ha ha ha. I wonder if the political cartoonists and satirists will use that, too. That would be funny.

    MayBee,

That is also covered in the video, though Kascht is nice about it.

Kascht is nice about it. It’s this post/thread I don’t much care for (although I love Dan and happy).

    MayBee,

I don’t think Dan was trying to be mean towards McCain on this point. I read it as wondering how low the Left might stoop. Having watched that video, I think Kascht will be okay, but others… who knows?

Maybe. But you know, the right will surely bring up Obama’s drug use, and may even insinuate he sold drugs. The other side, it always stoops so low.

BTW, Karl- I just got back from “Definitely, Maybe” and the Ryan Reynolds character had a prominent Yo La Tengo poster. Which I noticed because I’d never heard of it (them?) before you and Thor on an earlier thread.

Will that be like how GHWB brought up Willie Horton in 1988?

  17. Comment by happyfeet on 2/16 @ 11:42 pm #

Oh. *tripped* is what I meant, not dripped. I love McCain. I am voting for him enthusiastically. Or at least I will and I will be. Also today I made a financial commitment as well. Just so you know is all.

  18. Comment by Karl on 2/16 @ 11:50 pm #

    MayBee,

Yo La Tengo goes back to my college days. Though they are often “arty,” when I asked thor if McCain was “Mr. Tough” I was referring to a song from their last LP that sounds oddly like Steely Dan.

There’s a five-step plan outlined for Conservatives for accepting John McCain…Anger, Despair, Confusion, Acceptance, and Excitement. Now, I’m somewhere in the crack between Confucius and acupuncture (is it better to stick a needle in my eye or accept John McCain?)

I can guarantee I’ll not get to stage 5, even (especially) if he wins.

But Hillary not winning is definitely a stage 6…

(Oh, Confucius: “The superior man, when resting in safety, does not forget that danger may come. When in a state of security he does not forget the possibility of ruin. When all is orderly, he does not forget that disorder may come. Thus his person is not endangered, and his States and all their clans are preserved.”

    Hmmmph. “Be Prepared.”

I used to think Excitement was out of the question too, but I read Baracky’s economic plan this morning that Glenn linked. Now I’m fired up and ready to go. If McCain is all that stands between us and this Hugo wannabe, he’s my new super bff.

    Kascht is nice about it.

For the real story, click on Kascht’s Obama caricature link.

I read it as wondering how low the Left might stoop.

The left still loves Mccain. And, at this stage, Ann Coulter may be vindicated: the letist-leaning press has embraced Obacanism and Obacamania and Obaca, treated McCain as the aging Republican maverick it has always adored, and dumped Hillary. It appears that Hillary is more conservative than McCain by MSM lights.

i think he is growing a second head. a conservative one.

Maybe he dripped over his dog’s water dish…..

I thought you were recounting one of Johnny Mac’s many late night romantic trysts with a more plain-faced campaign volunteer.
