Both Karl and The Sanity Inspector have touched on the NYTimes’ sly and mendacious piece about Iraq and Afghanistan veterans, killers or charged killers, who “paint the patchwork picture of a quiet phenomenon, tracing a cross-country trail of death and heartbreak.” Countering with actual facts and statistics aside, Iowahawk finds the pitch-perfect answer.
A Denver newspaper columnist is arrested for stalking a story subject. In Cincinnati, a television reporter is arrested on charges of child molestation. A North Carolina newspaper reporter is arrested for harassing a local woman. A drunken Chicago Sun-Times columnist and editorial board member is arrested for wife beating. A Baltimore newspaper editor is arrested for threatening neighbors with a shotgun. In Florida, one TV reporter is arrested for DUI, while another is charged with carrying a gun into a high school. A Philadelphia news anchorwoman goes on a violent drunken rampage, assaulting a police officer. In England, a newspaper columnist is arrested for killing her elderly aunt.
Unrelated incidents, or mounting evidence of that America’s newsrooms have become a breeding ground for murderous, drunk, gun-wielding child molesters? Answers are elusive, but the ever-increasing toll of violent crimes committed by journalists has led some experts to warn that without programs for intensive mental health care, the nation faces a potential bloodbath at the hands of psychopathic media vets.

Would it be too much trouble for a person, if he were to happen by a MSM personality on the scene of a fire, or a plane crash, or any other occurrence of bad news that merits on-location reportage, would it be asking too much for that bystander to spit on said reporter and yell something catchy like “BRAIN CELL KILLER!!” or “NEWS WHORE!”?
.
.
it could start a craze

I did some intense research, and finally found that in the ancient Ordellian language, NYT means “cluless assholes”.
But I kinda knew that anyway.

And the best part of this kerfuffle?
It’s gotta be the Ad right next to this comment box, advertising the NYT at 50% off.

You know, I write for a newspaper (no, you’ve never heard of it), and I haven’t been arrested on any felony charges in, like, months.
Thank you, methadone!

Hey Sean and Dog,
I think we’re the only ones here. There’s a bag of pot here somewhere. I’ll put in an 8-Track. Will you guys help me look for the weed?

HAH! Why would I inflict an even bigger anxiety attack upon myself?
I think I’ll stick with the mushrooms and the sake.
But thanks anyway. Truly neighborly of you.

What, and violate my parole? You might as well try to persuade me to get my car washed by the high school cheerleading squad (don’t ask).
No thanks, narc!

Hah! Iowahawk just grabbed the NYT by the ankles and dragged her but-naked across a mile of polyester shag carpet.
I can smell the rug-burn from here!
After this, I don’t think the Times’ll be able to post on veterans’ affairs for at least a month. Shulzberger’ll have to find subtler methods to degrade America’s military defenses from his Manhattan eyrie.
Like, get a Hillary! elected.

Iowahawk is a friggin’ genius.
Comment by bjtexs on 1/19 @ 7:53 am #
That Times article was written by someone who has very little clue what the military is all about and doesn’t care, being contemptuous of the entire organization.
In other words, par for the liberal course.
Now when will John Murtha introduce a bill to aid killbot reporters at risk? Maybe a new Department of Journalist Psychos. Geraldo and his ’stach could be the first secretary.

NYT is just lucky he didn’t take her in the farm tool shed.
Brrrrrrr.

well, shit, can we go ahead and condemn all of them like they condemn all Catholic Priests for the few Judases out there? I mean, if we follow the logic, none should EVER read a printed piece again! I mean, they’re all drunks, stalkers, and murderers! Until they clean up their act, I am swearing off newsprint entirely!
Comment by Enoch_Root on 1/19 @ 9:08 am #
and that goes for teachers too! my kids are not going to school until they clean up all the perverts in the schools! All teachers are pervs!!!!!! Pass it on.
Comment by Enoch_Root on 1/19 @ 9:10 am #
and teh gays, too! I heard some of them are promiscuous! I am not going to be ass-fucked again until they (teh gayses) clean up that dirty little secret (the hot tub sex thing too!).

Enoch – no journlism professors from Jesuit schools are getting invited over to your house, huh?
Comment by B Moe on 1/19 @ 10:07 am #
Posts like that make me really wish Burge/Goldstein 08 wasn’t just a gag.

JD – well, it depends on the Jebbie school they attend. I would exclude Marquette, Boston College, Georgetown, and Santa Clara for starters. They may have been founded by real Jesuits, but have very much lost their respective souls. They are no more Catholic universities than, say, the University of Wisconsin, Madison.

From Catholic Standard Times – http://www.cst-phl.com/060629/second.html
” ‘Are Catholic universities that consistently teach things against the Catholic Church good Catholics?’ ‘No,’ shouted the audience.
Father Groeschel said he would rather see a student attend a secular university with a good Neumann Club than a Catholic university that is unfaithful to the teachings of the Church.”
Totally dig the Father Groeschel dude. My favorite living Apologist (besides the Pope)… more about he who taketh no prisoners – http://www.ignatiusinsight.com/authors/frgroeschel.asp

Iowahawk is effing brilliant. Enoch Root has a good point about the teachers, esp. as a huge percentage of DNConvention delegates will be from the teachers’ unions. I may have to start a file.

SO, who forwarded the link to the NYT?
Comment by PCachu on 1/19 @ 1:21 pm #
Holy crap, that was FRIGGIN’ BRILLIANT. Iowahawk is writing the satire that reasoning-challenged journos won’t write.
Comment by JD on 1/19 @ 1:35 pm #
A similar article about school teachers would be devastating.
