You know, this kid sounds like he’s at least a decent place to start the greater debate. We can play Whack a Mole till the cows come home, but we’re never going to kill them all. And by “them” I mean West-hating jihadis.
If there’s to be dialog, this wouldn’t be a bad place to start. And that he’s bin Ladin’s kid is both immensely significant and utterly irrelevant. It would be good to detail the futility of jihad and to do so in a civilized manner. You bring this kid around, and you might be on to something with his father’s followers.
OK, it was the dreads that sold me.
Won’t you help to sing
These songs of freedom
Cause all I ever have
Redemption songs

Why would he want to go to England when he could be king of San Francisco?

Oh. See I didn’t know that. I feel kind of embarrassed. Huge misunderstanding. Thanks, AP!

Given what we’ve seen of “peace activists” lately, has this apple really fallen so far from the tree?

I wouldn’t expect him to criticize his father. That wouldn’t really work in that culture, would it?

Well, not unless his dad did something really bad.
