You just know wherever there is fire, this administration will be out there doing what it does best and that is fanning the flames, you know. It just spooks me, I can’t explain to you how creepy this whole thing is that you know, you’ve got these fires. Some of them are thought to be the work of arsonists and in the same breath you’ve got a community that’s on fire that just recently protested Blackwater West. Just recently said no to Blackwater and apparently you don’t do that. … it is all so bizarre that this is America and you have to sort of sit there and wonder … arson, same place Blackwater West wants to be … * |

Well, Randi, it’s not like arson is really being downplayed. Also consider that both the fires are still burning and police are usually frugal with any details of on-going investigations. Blackwater really should have looked at Texas for their training facility, especially if they have an eye for training people to perform in Middle East conditions. Temperate San Diego is gonna do these guys a disservice. And also, Texans don’t act like little girls about big scary men playing with guns.

hf, they can be in San Diego County and have some hot old times in which to practice. It’s large and quite desert-y in places. Really, though, maybe they should work out a deal with the Marine Corps to borrow 29 Palms every so often. Armpit of the world, that is.

Ok, this is fun. That proposed Blackwater West facility, right where all the evacuations were taking place? That would be in Potrero, CA, which is along the Mexican border and nowhere even close to “…in San Diego right where most of the evacuations are taking place…. I don’t know that anything was burning south of Rt 8 and the majority of the damage was in Ranch Bernardo which is 15 miles north of 8 and probably 60 miles north of Potrero. The fires have been in North County and the Blackwater site was about as far South County as you can get.
There’s no accuracy in insanity!

I was just looking around at Blackwater’s site a little bit. They seem to offer some pretty cool training. If they build this new facility and offer these classes near San Diego, I bet me and the better half will be out there in no time. She loves the place, plus it’s really cool for us both to go to the same pistol classes so we can operate as a team if need be.
